Government has setup a committee to review and improve the GATE exam structure. The details of exact changes in GATE 2014 are not revealed, but so many things are buzzing about GATE. Below are some of the changes that we can expect in GATE 2014.

1. 2 Phase exam

GATE 2014 might be conducted in two phases. These two phases could be named as GATE and GATE Advance. Those who have passed in the first phase will only be allowed to appear in the second phase.

The first phase paper will have mainly maths and aptitude with some light weight questions of technical subjects. This paper will be of 2 hours. It might be conducted in the month of  September/October. The second phase paper will be based on technical subjects and it could be of 3 hours. It might be conducted in January or February

2. Online Exam

Currently very few branches of engineering has online exam 2014 will include more branches. Also there are speculations that first phase exam of all branches will be online.

This speculated 2 phase GATE 2014 structure will be in the interest of students as they can concentrate on the aptitude and maths part for the first phase and will get sufficient time for preparing the core subjects.
