IIT Indore MTech and MTech+phd dual degree Admission 2013

The Mtech and and Mtech+Phd program is available in two streams. Communication and Signal Processing and Productions & Industrial Engineering.

Eligibility for Admission in Communication and  Signal Processing Program

1. Minimum first Class BE/BTech or equivalent degree in Electrical or Electronics and Communication or Electronics and Instrumentation or  Telecommunication or Information Technology

2. Valid GATE qualification in Electronics and Communication (EC).

Eligibility for Admission in Production and Industrial Engineering 

1. Minimum first Class BE/BTech or equivalent degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Manufacturing, Materials and Metallurgy, Mechatronics, or Automobile Engineering

2. Valid GATE qualification in Mechanical (ME) or Production and Industrial (PI) Engineering

GATE qualification is exempted for IIT graduates having CPI equal to or more than 8.0

How to apply

There is no application fee. One can submit his/her application online through http://www.iiti.ac.in. After Submitting the application online, the same is to be downloaded and the signed hard-copy along with recent photograph and self-attested relevant certificates, document and Statement of Purpose must be sent to the following address on or before 9
th April 2013.

KVPY Eligibility for School Students

Students enrolled in the XI Standard (Science Subjects) during the academic year 2012-13 and have secured a minimum of 80% (70% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate in Mathematics and SCIENCE subjects in the X Standard Board Examination.

Students enrolled in XII Standard/ (+2) (Science subjects) during the academic year 2012–13 and aspiring to join an undergraduate program in Basic Sciences (B.Sc./B.S./Int. M.Sc./M.S.) for the session 2013–14 provided they have secured a minimum of 80% (70% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects in the X Standard Board Examination.

KVPY 2012 Eligibility for Under Graduate Students

Students enrolled in the 1st year of B. Sc./B.S./Int. M.Sc./M.S. during the academic year 2012–13 and have secured a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate in Science subjects in the XII Standard Board Examination.

Fellowship/Scholarship Details

SA (After X Class) Students will get monthly stipend of Rs 400 and Annual Contengency Grant of Rs 16000. For Class XII students, a monthly fellowship of Rs 5000 and annual contingency grant of Rs 20,000 will be awarded during 1st to 3rd years of – B.Sc./B.S. /Integrated M.Sc. /M.S. For Msc/MS students during M. Sc. / 4th to 5th years of Integrated M.Sc. /M.S. monthly stipend of Rs 7000 and Annual contingency grant of Rs 28000 will be provided.

KVPY 2012 exam date:  Sunday 4th November 2012 . Students who have applied online may download the admit card for the aptitude test from the website from the second week of October 2012.Those who have applied with a hard copy, admit card will be sent by speed post.

Eligibility for Regular full time Phd in Engineering

a) Candidates with a Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology with a good academic record or a Master’s degree by Research in Engineering/Technology with a good academic record.

b) Candidates with Master’s degree in Sciences with a good academic record and of exceptional merit where eligible, for the relevant Engineering discipline and with a valid GATE score or UGC/CSIR NET/NBHM or equivalent qualification in the relevant area tenable for the year of registration.
In the case of candidates with more than 5 years relevant experience after the Master’s degree, the requirement of a test score may be waived by the Selection Committee.

c) Candidates who have qualified for the award of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology with exceptionally good academic record in an eligible discipline will be considered for direct admission to Ph.D. Programme as a regular full time scholar subject to the following conditions:·

1. B.Tech degree holder of an IIT with a minimum CGPA of 8.0 on a 10 point scale or with a valid GATE score.

2. Bachelor’s degree holder in Engineering/Technology from any other University should be among the top 10 rank holders in the University and having a valid GATE score.

3.  Bachelor’s degree holder in Engineering/Technology from a reputed R & D organisation and having a proven research record

The post doctoral fellowship is for the duration of one year . Applicant should be a PhD degree holder or should have submitted his/her thesis and awaiting viva in cultural Anthropology or any other relevant area from an Indian University or any foreign University .Individuals currently employed as Assistant Professors can also apply, however, they are expected to take leave and spend full time at the Institute. The application should be accompanied with a letter from the employer that leave will be given.
